Celly, not yet... Haven't had much time to work on her. Started the bus a few days ago, and smelled burning wires, which is a PITA after I had everything electrical just about working. I have some vacation time coming up, so I hope to work on her then

Had a few hours this morning before work...

I have all electrical lights now working, except for reverse lights - So, power comes from coil, to switch on tranny, then separate wire back to ?  ?  Please no more wiring diagrams :(  A simple explanation or a picture is so much more useful than a cryptic wiring diagram that says S1 to t9c over to B6 -   i'm searching the samba now...

Also, I found  the right carbs linkage bar from the central linkage contraption just kinda hanging there. No wonder the thing cant idle more than 3 seconds :)

Thx Jack  - that must be what this T-connector is for... black is tailights, brwn ground. nothing coming to it...

Hmmmm, the black and red are correct I believe going to the dizzy. He has a black wire ( with the tape on it) coming directly from the coil to up front to the fuse box....dunno what that does... I once thought it powered the fuel pump, but I traced it  - guess this is where the reverse lights should connect to the tee, above...

I'm getting stupider by the day....

Black up front goes from ignition to coil.  check!
I'm mising a black wire from the + post to the tranny switch with a in-line fuse in it - got it
I'm missing a black wire back to the backup lights tee connector to provide power back to the lights - got it.

Thx Jack for igninting my brain cells.

It's easy when you know how or if you have done it before! How many times, Jack? I can't remember! Is that a sign of I don't give a d-m or I'm old and grumpy, so don't bother me, learn for your self.
Cheers, I think,
Bob

So, taking advantage of this great day,  I worked a bit on BlueBelle.  Got her idling now and moving up and down the driveway... Found a short and fixed in the fuel pump wire to the coil, no wonder I got no gas. Also, take a peak at this:

I've got dual webers, with the linkage in the center. There are two linkages that look like mini-tie rods connecting to the throttles on each of the carbs.

Heres a picture of the one from the right pass side that fell off

Here's the center linkage. Right above the bottom left of the spring is the "joint" where the rod fell off - looks like a mini door knob. I'd point it out, but Jack doesn't like my finger getting in the way of my pictures. :) Ignore the blue wire and the spark plug wire off the plug.

Just to get her idling, I connected with a zip tie to keep it on. Looks like some sort of clip is missing - You can see an example of the clip in the first picture, right below the linkage...

Any ideas what can I use to replace these things, or does somebody make a replacement? I keep thinking some length of threaded rod, but I cant figure out how to connect.

Wahoo!! BlueBelle hit the road today!  Went about 1/4 mile around the block today in 2nd sounding like I'm on 3 cylinders. So much chit in the gas tank after sitting for 5 years. drained and refilled. Not exactly a well tuned machine at this point, but I got 'er moving..gotta pull the plugs next and free up my back drums.

Better save up my pennies... My dry rotted tires ain't gonna cut it...
