Yea but you have to do A load of clothes to get some Heat

Tonight was sheet night, so I had the Kenmore dryer fired up for heat for 3 hours...

Anyway, switched Glowbug's battery (that works just fine) with BlueBelles and started up with remote starter, same result,,,,,,

Goin to Jacksonville for work for a few days,,, I get back, I'm pulling the starter out.....If no go, I'm also then fishing out two red wires that the starter solenoid has connections to that run to the back, they were snipped and used for the diagnostic junk. Maybe they are touching/shorting inside the bundle I can't see...

Had some time this afternoon - took off the entire wire harness cover from starter up to the front fuse box and SURPRISE!!, about midway through, about a small Dixie cup worth of slimy water came out of the harness. I'm not Mr Wizard, but I can't believe that can be good to have your main feeds ( red/white & red/back)  sitting in a harness in water...

Putting the Kenmore dryer on full blast tonight to dry things out, see what happens..

I think it would be in the sky from a skywriter plane it started.

Hope to have time sunday night to work on for a coupla hours...

I got a hunch that should make it start. If I didn't hear Jack start this thing up varoom waroom straight from his truck battery, I'd just pull the starter and take a peek at the bushing in there first.

If it does or doesnt work, I'm running a new red/white and red/black feed up front. What the hell, I'll also wire in a new 12 gauge wire to the coil/fusebox.

Didn't I say a few months back I hated electrical? :)

All this time, I could have been polishing and buffing my Rustoleum to a nice dull matte sheen. :)

Had a few hours to put in, plus two loads of laundry, so I had heat...

For a test, I took both red/black and red/white wires (they feed up front and back)  off the terminals to the starter.. eliminates any nonsense up front.

So, the only connections were:

from battery positive red cable to starter, battery to ground. Connected my remote starter to starters' large terminal and to top terminal as normal.

Got barely a crank.

I know battery is good, since I put in my Bug, and vice versa and started.

I'm thinking, it has to be the damn starter or starter bushing... the only thing that gets me is that Jack connected directly to the starter with battery cables from his truck battery and it fired up fine

The only thing he could have bypassed is that I have TWO red wires coming from alternator connected on the positive post.  I will disconnect them next, just to make sure I dont have some crazy issue with the alternator.

The good news is that while tracing some wires out, I got the license plate light working ( connected backwards by PO) and the interior back dome light on (not connected at all by PO). I now have every damn electrical thing working on this bus

I still think my wife is coming into my garage and messing with this wiring...
