I can't make out what your showing (chunk of bearing) but it also looks like the rear main bearing was spinning in the case. I sure would like to come up and check it out before you put it back together.

the one picture has a hunk of the rear bearing.
the bottom picture I was showing the cam bearing was down to the copper.
Feel free to stop by anytime.

Is it a half or whole bearing? Probably whole! I have cut them off using an air powered cut off wheel, using a wheel the is very small (almost worn out). Don't touch the crank!!!!!!! When you get close carefully knock it off with a small chisel.
Good luck,
