Cruise to Pete's house
« on: July 31, 2010, 05:02:40 pm »

GREAT cruising weather and a lot of fun, Pete and his wife were very great hosts and had coffee and donuts for us when we got there, when we left we stoped for lunch at cracker barrel for lunch, less one. I had a great time guys, it was fun!!! MORE PHOTOS
of course John had to try and drive Pete's car

The Crew, we had a nice turnout of 9 cars on the cruise

As always a superb cruise & swell time with a bunch of great people   I'm still in total awe of Pete's machine shop & his rig   Can't wait to see it on the road. We need to go back when Pete's garage is finished. Way to go Pete

This ride was extra special for me as I lived in that area until I was 21 & moved to Jersey. Saw a lot of stuff that I literally have not seen in 30 years.  Brought back a lot of memories. Some bad but the good out weighted.

By the way Mr. Fast Hands Shawn, I was very surprised to see this picture when I was uploading them and with my own camera, I must have been very engrossed in the menu not to have noticed.

Had a good time, and thanks to all cruisers for waiting for me since I just could not quite find the starting place.

Pete, thanks to you and your wife for the hospitality, the car work is fantastic, really good to see it in person much more impressive than just pics

Still amazes me brake fluid ate up the Master Series,  again I wonder if it would do the same to POR-15.  This would be a good test, and if I have some around still, I'll do it.
I think this is kind of important to know if you are doing a restoration like this.  It  is not unheard of to have some brake fluid leak in that area over time, and you do not want it to eat your "preservative" if it does, and rust starts, that rust will move between the layers- same thing happens with tar, believe it or not!

Enjoyed the tour of the basement shop - that was nice to see ( thanks for the no admission charge) & amazing on how cheap you got some of the stuff. Good work on the electronics - very nice.

Yeah, you should have the garage done in no time, just make sure  you put an xtra room on the top - don't have to make it too spacious, I dont have that much stuff to move in-

Bummer i missed out on the lunch, that would have been great, but had to go

thanks also Jack for putting this all together! Thanks Jack

Good to see everyone!

Matt

Thanks Pete for letting us stop by and check out your SWEEET project.  I was truely impressed by everything I saw.

Thanks Jack for organizing the cruise.

The Cruise was fun, even though I broke down on the last leg.  A big thanks to Jim, Shawn, and Marty for helping me sort out the problem with the bug and get me back on the road.  Sorry I missed lunch guys, but I wasn't gonna chance it not starting again.  Had to get her home while the gettin was good.

Side note...went home pulled the points and condensor (threw in trash) slapped in the pertronix (I had waiting for the bug) set timing and took her for a drive and she drove great... go figure?
