Slow Riders Slam

Nice show glad I went. The ride up was white knuckle because I did not program my GPS right & it took me there via 95  Ride back following Jacks route was very nice

 I usually don't care about trophies but they had theses super cool plaques they gave out. Wanted one in the worst way but  Might have had a chance but not knowing any better I put my Rig in modified class, should have been in beater class. Oh well

Another great weekend for Camping and Car Show. Yucel, Michelle, Greg, Steve and I went down Sat. and Matt and Katie came into the campground about an hour after us. Today John, Steveo, Ramone and Mark showed up for the show.

Now get this, Mark came down on his own via RT-95, now that is a BIG deal......Great to see you pull in Mark!

After we set up camp we had to help Matt & Katie as always.   MORE PHOTOS



Then we had Dinner as Matt did a great cooking.



After dinner we went to spend a few hours around the fire, you hn't seen a fire till you till youve seen a Slow Riders Bon Fire





Katie & Matt won first place.


Ramone won 3rd place


John won first place


Michelle & Yucel won 2nd place

Katies racer was to only one to have passengers.



Breakfast was great as is all our meals when camping, Celly made eggs, Michelle put the cheese on the eggs and cut the giant Kiser rolls and I cooked the sausage and we all pigged out.



The gang and we had a new commer to the group this time, Maggie, Matt's doggie who wanted to eat a cat for dinner.

That was a fun weekend! For sure the biggest (and hottest) fire of the year! Matt - you're Indian dish was delicious (again!). Steve - can't say I ever would have thought to bring White Castle to a campout, but I'm sure Yucel will keep it in mind for all future ones!  We can always count on Greg for s'mores... and thank goodness he only brought regular size marshmellows! Oh, and Greg, you left your cough medicine in our cooler... guess we'll bring it to the JDC or maybe Yucel can finally get rid of that cough that's been plaguing him for the last couple of weeks..?.. Thanks Jack for taking all the photos so we can remember this awesome weekend (no wonder I can't remember what happened at Flanders!) Katie... I know you're racer didn't win, but it was the coolest looking one there!  Let's make some modifications for next year ;o)   Ramone - Yucel won't stop asking for more Crisp Orange Soda, jeez!  Chester said he can't wait to put his new sticker on Jack!  :0)

I took some FLIP videos of the drive & valve cover races... see if I can't get those on the site soon.

 I'm glad the food turned out, but I could have had it spicier, but was only thinking of Jack.....
Beautiful weather, even for sleeping, and if it wasnt for my neighbor who got up in the middle of the night to exercise his vocal chords...well...............
OF course I could have gotten better sleep, with my leaking air mattress forming a burrito around me, while I was sleeping on the ground...
BUT  that is what makes the memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      So when Katie puts me in some old VW folks home years from now, I'll be there rocking and thinking of the memories of this campout & smiling and being glad that I did not instead play it safe and stay home........

Michelle/Yucel, thanks for the breakfast, wish I could have eaten more, and thanks for the doughnuts whoever brought them - yum!


Great pics so far.  When I re-ran Katies racer down the track it did not wipe out then - what a bummer,  - but we will work on it next year...
Thanks for putting up with Maggie-dog, she had a good time & has been sleeping all day, and even early this evening.....sort of like Jack, I'm sure!

Congrats on all the winners!!!!!!!!!, ther were plenty for the group, I thought the slow-riders plaques are pretty cool looking, nice design

Outside the campers, Great to see John, Scarecrow, Ramone, and special guest, Steveo showing up the next day for the show.

When I get some more sleep, and some time, I'll post some pic.s

looks like a great time as always wish i could of been there but at least katie had my back and i was there in racing spirit.  looks like you guys really cleaned up down there gratz to all.  hope to see you all soon and welcome to the highway club scarecrow

Had a great time on the cruise up! Camping was fun as always! Wish I could have stayed around to stay for the show... went how to help Matt paint, but that didn't happen. I did however get to play with my new single serve coffee maker!! =-)
