So its time to start building something weird again.  I mean the Wartburg was fun, but it's time to push the envelope.   But since it was a relative success to incorporate VW bits in the build of that one its something I'd like to continue doing.   So now Im trying to figure out the best way to incorporate VW parts in my next nightmare.



It has already been suggested that I do the torsion bar transaxle setup in the rear like I did on the Wartburg, but I've already done that, need something new to try ;)

Its a 1929 Nash for those who are interested.  Its being called project gNash in honor of the sound my wifes teeth make when I talk about it.

Fear not, its just a "waiting in the wings" project right now.  Wifey's Thing is next up on the list, at least a basic rebuild of suspension and brake components to make it more driveable for her.  Still hunting a set of wide 5 wheels for that so I can ditch the Mustang wheels if anyone comes across a set.  Or a set of wide 5 to porsche adapters so I can mount the Fuchs I have on it.

No Rat on this one.  It will be a Rod but with paint and all that happy stuff.  Possibly with a Cummins straight 6 diesel for motivation, just because.  My daughter has also become very interested in all things steampunk so it may get some of those influences.

I need to sort our a new front suspension and I happen to have a disk brake beam here so I've considered that.  I'd have to use coil over shocks as the weight would be much more than a VW but it might have potential.  Not the most sporting of options but this is just going to be a cruiser.

Actually I found this on CL a few weeks ago but it was gone before I could react.  It was reposted 2 days later by the new owner at 2x the price but I guess it wasnt selling and he wanted it gone fast so he posted it on Ebay at the original sellers price (probably what he paid) I ended up paying a little more than the original price but not close to the double the guy was hoping for.

I'm just hoping to find a few gems in parts on it.  I was checking auctions for parts for this thing and an original gas cap, used not NOS just sold for $1300!!!  You can bet I'll sell off items like that.  I've just been wanting a good pre-35 body (any make) for a rod project but they usually go for $2k plus so a whole car for under $1000 was a deal

 I love the old gangster look. Those cars have great leg and head room. And when fitted with updated suspension, and power everything are dream to drive.
