I noticed I'm starting to admire folks' garages more than their cars...not that their cars aren't special, but, hot dang, these garages are getting nice looking.

In mine, maybe I'll work on the left brakes, maybe not



Maybe I'll work on the engine, maybe not.



Then again, I remember working on my cars in my apartment complex outside in the rain under a tarp. I guess I'll be thankful for what i have... :)

My 1st garage @ my 1st house was little more than an large old shed with a dirt floor. But it was jsut big enough to fit my 63 Rambler. Still miss that car  bawlin)0

I grew up in Philadelphia...
This was my garage




I built Meanie #1 here. (note the oil stains the car usually faced the other way)





I had a carport in Florida





I first decided I was building my garage at this house 7 years ago. I saved the money, and submitted the plans to the township, and got approved.

As a result of the township's requirements an additional $3000 was needed and I had to put the project on hold... for a year

Then the washing machine and the refrigerator needed replacing.... so oooops not again.

Then, just before the next try (another year later) I destroyed my hand.

That was 2006....  In 2008 I got my first garage ever




Note the grass floor? Ya just keep 5 or 6 pieces of 3/4 ply so stuff wont sink



In 2010 I added 50% more space by putting up a 2nd tent!

Finally, here we are. 2011 and the drawings are done and headed to the township

It took 31 years. And based on the stuff in first tent....



We'll have the same amount of space anyway!
