Car Horn for Band Piece

Was wondering the cheapest way to get a car horn to sound for a concert I have in June. We are playing a satarical piece which calls for a car horn, vuvuzela, duck whistle etc... was thinking of geting a jumper pack, because its good to have anyway and use it to power the horn. Suggestions? Would like to bring it to rehearsal on Monday.

Get 2 of these...



Using a short piece of 18ga (or thicker) wire hook POSITIVE on 1 to NEGATIVE on 2

The remaining terminals Negative on 1 and POSITIVE on 2 will give you 12 Volts.
Either borrow or buy a horn and get a horn button from the autoparts store & hook it up as follows...

Positive from 2 directly to the terminal on the horn

Negative on 1 to one of the terminals on the horn button and the other to the mounting screw (body) of the horn

Ramone, you won't get the same timbre out of the instruments. It's bad enough we are using a trumpet mouthpiece in place of a oboe mouthpiece!

I might have a horn from the 54' truck or there should be a beetle horn around here somewhere.
