MOUNT HOPE VW EVENT
« on: April 30, 2011, 06:28:51 pm »

The new location (formally Cambelltown) was not disappointing.

The drive was great, a little over an hour on the PA turnpike (About the same time as I take getting to Englishtown). You exit the Turnpike and the Mount Hope Manor is on the left, a couple hundred yards. E-Z on E-Z off. Great parking. Great personnel. A mere $1 (per car load) for spectators.

Rows and rows of vendors about 3 to 4 times the amount at Englishtown. I found a very rare mirror that matches the one on the Porsche. That mirror was rare when I bought in way back then and to find one for a mere $5 WOW! Now I can have a passenger side match. I'm not going to bore you with my purchases but I bought a lot.

The show cars were outstanding. Long rows and rows of them. They were still coming in when I left.

I was talking to the guys that run it. They expect it to double next year. They have the room to expand.

This is by far my favorite VW show of all time. I can't wait till next year.

I would have to take four pictures just to cover the swap area.

&^beer&  Beer was great too!!!  &^beer& Joe, did u see the Judson supercharger complete kit selling! the guy let it go for $300 after alot  of negotiation. The guy who bought it left with a HUGE grin! As for the event, WOW!!!! location even, WOWER!!!! drive to-and-from... priceless! The South Philly Van Club camped out outsde of the spot and they had a blast! the bar didn't close until they left(4am)..  The Woodie had some of the best woodwork i've ever seen! that guy did an awesome job, and still doing more to it! the back bumper was from a MG that was cut in half, then re-chromed. He said that this was his 1st event with the car... The bus with the welded dog chained to the bumper was my best rusty pick!

I did see the Judson. But being they're for 40 HP engines I gave it no thought. $300 is a steal.

I'm glad you stayed for the beer.  clap2-*

  It was a great show.
