Dripfest 2011!

 2@@cool  Dripfest was awsome!  Quite a few cars showed up.  Met and talked to alot of people.

HUGE thanks to all who came out! clap2-* We had over 100 cars and even had a few watercooleds that crashed the show. #@rofl3 Best of Show went to a 64 bug with safari front windshield rolling on 17" Radars. Later in the day this guy rolled in in a 49 bug he bought 4yrs ago for $100!!!

This guy found this 49 bug in a barn where he was doing a job for a lady who bought some property. He bought it for $100 invested $50 in parts to get it runnng after sitting 25yrs in the barn. The car has some dryrotted tires but he's still driving locally with no problems. He was telling us about the story on the roofrack, being it had a VW stamped on the tubing, it was actually on the car when he got it. It's a german designed roofrack not a atermarket repro with woodslats.. anyway it seemed like the car had an accident in the past because both rear fenders and apron was not OG and the decklid is wrong for the year. but everything else was original to the car.

  A little late, but here are some of our pics from dripfest


   
Katie and Bridgett were happy we made it - last minute decision to go camping, got dark within 1/2 hour after getting there. You -all would have been proud, we beat our time record for putting up the tent!





 Best camping spot ever!




 We are waaay back there.. We kept asking Where's Shawn? - oh yea, probably down at the Tiki bar as he said.... we expected him to show up later....but.................



& no one else for quite a ways....

We walked an found some other campers spread out, hung out with them until 10:00pm, then THEY said it's time for bed!  2@@cool














 None of the night pictures came out, but you can tell we had a good sleep and it was a leeeetle cold - Bridgett is completely under the green blanket.......





Got up about 8:00. & the morning, the girls made a pancake breakfast. ... they had some trouble getting the stove to go.... That's Jack's job after all...


   



Packed up after breakfast and headed to the show - GREAT SHOW - Better turnout every year the show goes on!

Great show, & good to see some of the SJVWC members there
