1986 Vanagon Westy Weekender Automatic

1986 Vanagon Westy Weekender Automatic 2K obo.

I bought this for parts to make the Syncro a Westy, but Mrs Baja took a liking to it so I went in the other direction. It's too good to part out but I have too many projects (no really...I do)

Has the usual rust line on the side, and behind the tires. Brand new repair panels for all 3 sections come with it.

The nose above the bumper has an area thats been pushed in slightly. It's not major and can be pulled easily. (that was next on the list) Passenger side above the bumper, below headlight area. This picture was taken with the headlights and grilles out.  It also shows a repair i did around the antenna. It has since been primered. Headlights and grilles are in good shape (just dont have a pic)

This is a weekender model so theres no kitchen but it has the flip up table and a rear-facing third seat

Has a kickin stereo (Thats a subwoofer built into the 3rd seat) with big amp. cross-over etc

It's an automatic transmission and it seems to work fine. Fluid's not burnt & it drives, but I havent had it on the road. (I do have a spare trans available at additional cost)

I've installed the following:

- 90% of the brake lines have been replaced (Soft lines in rear and Master cylinder to bias valve and T are the only ones still original and they're good) I used NiCopp line. Very expensive and it will NEVER corrode!
- New Calipers up front
- TriStar STAINLESS STEEL exhaust system (worth over $800 alone)
- New alternator
- New fuel pump

What it needs to be road worthy:
- Tires
- Power Steering hoses
- Tune-up

The pop-up works great and i have new seals for the roof vent. The upper bunk is beautiful. The canvas only has a small tear across the back from getting pinched in the pop-top but the screen is shot. It'll need to be replace. The PO didn't have the cushion for the bed but he gave me one for a full westy so it can be cut (replacement foam is expensive)

This is a nice Westy and with very little work will be ready to go, and it's is a prime candidate for a Subie swap  whistleegi

I'm posting it here first before I go to the Samba

If a member buys it, maybe we can get it onto the SJVWC Overhaulin' list  **^bana0

PM me if youre interested.

BTW You see how much I have into it, don't think I'm going to give it away...OK?

This one has everything I always wanted. More HP, water cooled, real heat, real bed, pop top, power steering & most of all an automatic trans  :jump4jo": Can't wait to transform it into my version of perfection. I'm very excited. All my previous VW's were just practice to bring me to this point  #@rofl3
