72 Super Engine
« on: October 05, 2011, 11:19:35 pm »

I'm reading and researching ALOT!
I found these specs and was wondering if anyone (Jack) can enlighten me on the reliability of this setup

Treuhaft Automotive Specialties Trans-Am 1302.
The 0.40 overbore brings the engine to 1602cc. A fully counterweighted
Gene Berg crank, with longer than stock GM rods and stock pistons
provide 145bhp at 7,500 rpm with 11:1 compression.

 I've never seen such spec.

Chevy rods are used in stroker crankshafts so you don't have to clearance the cam. (stock rods will hit the cam shaft with 82+ crankshafts.

11:1 compression? you would have to burn race gas.  11:1 is not a steet engine.

That's way to complicated. You need to keep it simple and stock.

Installing one of these will do just fine.

It's a 4 cam 15?? out of a 56 porsche 356 Carerra. Good horsepower.
Little pricey, $35-$90,000
