So when I decide to tackle this job, should I replace BOTH the link pins and the King pins at the same time or should I wait until I take it apart to decide what parts I need?

It is recommended that you replace king pins and link pins at the same time. I think partly because of worn components and partly because you already have the entire assembly apart.  I have always replaced both 2@cent.
