1974 Karmann Ghia for Sale $3900
« on: June 05, 2012, 01:40:05 pm »

I am a member and will be selling my 1974 Karmann Ghia and wanted to give my fellow SJVWC members first chance at it to go to a good home.  The car is in good shape it will start right up and idle fine.  It runs, drives, stops shift etc.  I have owned the car for about 2 years and done alot of work replacing and gathering parts etc to get it to this point.  That said, it still needs to be finished, but can easily be made to drive regularly depending on how far you want to go with it.  It is really in pretty good shape, especially compared to other KG's in the Northeast I see out there for the price.  I've had success with it, but it's time to move on as I bought a new daily driver and need the garage space.

(See the pics using the CL ad link below)

The car has had the following work done in the last year.
New Carb
New Fuel Pump
Never used replacement fuel tank
New Fuel Lines/filter
New Plugs
New Plug wires
New Muffler
New Oil plate (studs and nuts)
New side mirrors
New Shocks
OEM German chrome headlight Bezels
Other Misc parts available.

The floors are solid with some minor holes repaired and has been POR 15d.  The nose is clean and looks to be accident free.  The rockers like most have been repaired and filled at some point in the past, but are more than serviceable as is.  (See the pics).  The worst of the rust on pass rear qtr has been replaced with an oer panel welded, repaired, and primed with a new oem engine lid, rust free on the edges.  (All the original German emblems/scripts)!

Interior needs work, but is complete.  Has OEM seats, and this is the 2 seater version in 74 with the nice cargo area for luggage.  The PO tried to make it a boy racer and replaced the gauges with nice VDO units, but none work as I haven't had the time to check the hook ups.  I have the somewhat difficult to find original VDO German Gauges for the car that will go with the sale.  It also has an Original SCAT Shifter from the 70's, this is not a reproduction.  This is the real thing as well as Riviera wheels on brand new Goodyear tires.

I'm looking to move the car quickly and have researched the market and price having it priced very reasonable.  Contact me to schedule time to see it in person.  I will answer all serious inquiries via emails, text or calls 609 273 5157.  Hamilton, NJ

Thanks
Tom
