Anyone that attends car shows know, well they can be slow, if not boring. But this show was not like that. First, the number of cars attending. If you know how long Landis avenue is, imagine cars parked perpendicular with only a couple of feet or less between them running from the circle to past the old Landis Theater which is, over a mile? And still they had to park cars down the middle of the avenue, some two deep. And still there were cars in front of the barricades trying to get in. Hundreds were turned away.
Mugman and I walked from 4th street all the way to the Landis theater and you never realizes how far you walked becuase there was so much stimulation from seeing so many different kinds of cars. There was a variety of food being sold; Jamaican, Cajun, Mexican, Amish and of course American. Everyone was overly friendly and was caught up in the comaradarie of the day.
Jacks car was one of the big hits of the show. We always had a crowd around the VW's. I can't say the same for the Corvettes. I watch people walking by with a glazed-over look in there eyes- like "all these cars are starting to look alike."
Then they would stop dead in thier tracks and just stare at Jack car, then whip out their camera and start taking pictures.
It was the best time I ever had at a car show. The Mustang car club did a great job at running the show, They gave all of us a much coveted Event Pin.
I think that somehow we should find a way to thank the Mustange club and Ben Navoro for letting us in. It was a great honor and a great day.
