20th Anniversary Trip: CANCELLED!
« on: June 12, 2012, 08:14:55 pm »

Due to the Busses by the Depot event being held the same weekend, the canyon trip has been cancelled. We will try to reschedule next season

So here's the story...

Tracy and I will have been together for 20 years this October.

2 years ago I told her, "I will take you anywhere in the world you want to go".

Every week since then I have asked her "Have you figured out where you want to go?" and I never get a straight answer.

At the beginning of this year, after I asked my weekly "Have you figured out where you want to go yet?" I have added "Anywhere in the world...and we're going to end up at the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania in a VW Bus"  #banghead

So the other night I asked "Have you figured out where you want to go?" and her answer was "What is actually at the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania?"  bugey--

So here's the photos we looked at:

and the fact that it would be beautiful in the fall, was mentioned.

"Where is this Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania?" she asked

So I looked it up...  It's 51 miles north of Sunsational Family Campground, New home of GGBB.

Then she got an interesting look on her face..... The wheels were turning.

I said "You want to see if our camping buddies want to go....Dont you?"   She smiled

So at this point it's just a fishing expedition (an idea, not an actual fishing trip  #@rofl3 )

Anybody want to to go camping in early October? It should be one of the most amazing visual trips ever. She'll probably max out the memory card (9000 photos)

I would fire up the lovebus in a heartbeat if JoAnn would go but I know that isn't happening so I must pass.

Plus we have been camping there.

Worlds End State Park is close to where you are looking Shawn, and is a great spot to consider if Colton Point is booked.

This is a shot from Canyon Vista in Worlds End State Park...   A place  I love and have been going to since I was a kid, in fact my daughter is the 4th generation of my family to go...

There has been a VW campout near the Grand Canyon of PA for the last couple years in April with the Full Moon Bus Club campers. But both years we saw it online, we had already missed it. Not sure they do it every year or not.  It looks like a gorgeous place... I bet the fall would be awesome! Sounds like a great idea! But I think Tracy should take you up on "anywhere" for a real anniversary without us....

On my 30th, I suggested to Mrs Muggy go on a trip WITHOUT me. Hell, 30 years with me and I certainly understand. I've had almost 56 years with me and I need a break sometimes.

The voices in my head said that, not me. &^rofl

we might need to bring uncle teddy on this trip.  I think we could put his tent between us and the bus to mask any potentially scaring noises coming from whit in.
