Some Vanagon Facts...
« on: July 08, 2012, 07:54:57 pm »

With VW's decission to develope the newer Vanagon Camper they created what is often referred to as the Swiss Army Knife of all campers. In fact I beleive it was Popular Mechanics that awarded it as the best kept most usable 15' secrect / camper ever designed.. BTW this was just recently so it took this long to catch on and continues to be the most sought after Camper ever made.

Here is a promo from VW showing the new Vanagons. Pay attention your appricate the engineering that when into these babies.

Yea-aaaa The Mini Van Won... or Did it..
One of my cars a Mini Van.. My grown children refuse to enter into it geeze you would think it was haunted.
But
My Vanagons they think are cool, and they want to Borrow and drive them. Go Figure.

I'm always crawing through auto scrap yards seeking parts.
Mini Vans are all over the place and soon to be headed to the Crusher.
I have seen almost every VW made in scrap yards,
BUT very seldom will you ever find a Vanagon, and trust me I search the yards throughout Southern NJ very well and often. Same story Throughout the US.

Yep the Mini Van Won, but in the end there all headed for the crusher, I have never seen anyone restore a Mini Van..
But Vanagons just keep on living...
I once saw a Vanagon piled ontop of a pile of cars headed to a crusher in a local yard, and trust me it brought me to my knees  bawlin)0 as I tried to talk the yard into letting me save it.. I needed an intervention and was in recovery for many weeks afterwards. Luckily Shawn was with me at the moment of meld down and assisted me  %$oldcit out of the yard. I had Vanagon night mares  #banghead for weeks afterwards and kept dreaming of the crusher trying to eat the Van..

Vangons are currently the most sought after VW's ever made. Even on Samba there are less Vanagons forsale in the world then any other VW listed..

Yep the Mini Van Won back in the day, but in the end it's a dying breed whereas the Vanagons keep coming back to life and continue to be the Family Truck'ster, and Campers of choice. They are becoming increasingly harder to find, and continue to retain and increase in Value each year.

So in the end The Vanagons actually Won, as they thub thumpup)- there nose to the crushed Mini Vans Bye-eee  byeby.,.. Guess it's true. Pay Backs are a Bitch  ?/banghea?/ ..

He's not really exaggerating.... Here it is at the top of the pile in the back

So he's hanging from the bumper with one arm while he tries to unbolt the hitch with the other.

Then he went to sit down and it was just overwhelming!!!! A Beetle Too!  &(rage_
