69 Bug, Dad's DD
« on: September 28, 2012, 10:09:19 pm »

Hey all. Pops is considering putting his bug up for sale. After 2 years of trouble free daily use (commuting in DC no less) he has purchased a newer vehicle. He had hoped to keep the bug to fully restore but mom is sick and he realizes he will never have the time to do it. He hasn't fully committed to selling yet but is pretty close. The club helped when I was hunting this thing for him and in getting it road ready for him so he wanted you guys to have a shot at it. She's a 69 as you will see from the photos dad spends alot of time polishing her and he's made even the parts where the paint is faded to primer shine. The car was purchased a little over 2 years ago to be his DD and I put about $1000 into it at that time replacing brake parts, hoses, rubber bits to bring it up to date and make it reliable. There is no rot on the car but the drivers rear fender was replaced by the PO with a cheaper unit and did have a small spot of rot which I patched and painted. MANY new restoration parts with the car, good quality triple chrome bumpers (rear installed, front not) new headlight rings, new turnsignal housings, headliner, the list goes on and on. Everything is there and the car is complete, solid and RELIABLE. It is a dead solid driver and easy restoration for someone with the time to put into it. Like I said he's still slightly on the fence but he'll be looking for about $3500 for it (a steal when you see how well she drives, passed very rigorous MD inspection) Car is in Monrovia Md but I could arrange to get it up here to NJ if there is serious interest or meed around Baltimore to look it over.
