Well over the weekend I had big plans for working on the bus, then I went outside...  The heat and humidity really took it out of me and I lasted about an hour before  I ran back in the AC...  At least I had some stuff I could do indoors.  So, since unbearable heat was on my mind I came up with this my $6.00 Vanagon Sun Shade:

I made these for both sides for a total of $6.35

2 sun shades from the dollar store  $2.14

2 packs of adhesive magnetic strips  $4.21

First I cut the magnetic strips in half lengthwise, full strips were too heavy.

I opened and laid out the sunshade with the silver side up on my floor.

I attached strips the to bottom straight edge since this would be my guide along the bottom of the window.

Placed sunshade on the window lining up the bottom to ensure it is straight.

Trim excess material from top.

Place magnetic strips around window frame, and remove adhesive backing one at a time working your way up.

top edge, note the half strips- full are too heavy...

I did use full strips on the bottom but I think it is overkill.

So in theory you could get away with 1 package of magnetic strips and save $1.97...

That is pretty much it.  For another 2 dollars you can get 2 more sun shades for the front window.
You can use this same magnetic method for other windows in the bus too.
