Tracy and I are camping... And since Eeyore is water-cooled, and can't be shown,
Jack won't be alone when he wants to go home early

Leaving early sounds good, have a Boston terrier meet up at noon!

For those new to "The All Air Cooled Gathering" aka Flanders (Flanders is the town}.

The facility is the Swim & Sports Club of Flanders. A beautiful facility founded built by German immigrants in the 20's centered around a giant swimming pool that is filled and filtered by the stream that runs next to it! (Sorry, im geeking out) In addition to the pool there are  huge grass athletic fields that host around 400 air cooled cars reminiscent of the Pebble Beach Concourse show. http://www.swimandsportclub.org/

The clubhouse/ballroom reminds me of a Catskills Resort with its highly polished dance floor. There's a bar and a kitchen.

We head up Saturday and set up camp in the parking lot ( a huge grass field surrounded by pines)
For dinner, the Kitchen is open and the prices are more than reasonable, so if you'd rather not cook, you don't have to worry about spending a fortune to eat. There are restrooms right in the camping area as well as the clubhouse.

Saturday night there's a large group campfire and its all very family oriented while up at the clubhouse the bars open and there's usually a live band.

Sunday the kitchen opens at like 6:00 AM for breakfast, and they feed you like you're going to the electric chair! Hot coffee & big breakfast....great way to start a great day. The cars start rolling in and its amazing how fast that huge field fills up. VW's Porsches, BMW Isettas. Corvairs, subaru 360' and even an occasional Messerschmit or other aircooled curiosity like a VW powered motorcycle

There's valve cover racing, and kids activities. Tons of amazing door prizes a Dub Push (where we will try to regain the coveted "Mr Pushme" trophy). There's tons of food available all day long from the kitchen and the outdoor grills. This is the best show of the season. Tons of awesome cars, surrounded on 3 sides by vendors. The SSC folks treat you like family and go out of there way to make sure you have a good time and the hosts, Central Jersey VW Society do a fantastic job of making sure it all comes off flawlessly (months of planning and a huge team of dedicated people make it look easy, but they work their butts off)

The worst AACG I've ever attended is still better than the best of any other show Ive been to. Where else are you going to see 5 ovals side by side, and hear the iconic "Voice of VW Drag Racing"- Dyno Don Chamberlin  calling the events...

When and where do you meet to drive up there?

Do you have to pre-register to camp or just show up?

How much is it to camp?

How much is it to get into the event?
