Lizards Like VW's Too
« on: November 05, 2013, 01:26:00 pm »

 OK.. Here's a wield one..
 Several times during the summer when I would go to one of my "Back Stock Vans" I'd catch a glimpse of a good size lizard scurrying through the tall grass.

 I often see smaller Pine Lizards, but this stranger was a Big'em, just never could catch up with him before he darted when he saw me a coming. A few weeks ago I was mowing the area on my rider and thought that I hit a chunk of wood etc as something shot out from near the mower deck as I looked back I saw the large Lizard running like a Deer for cover.

 Yesterday as I was showing a buyer the Vans I happened to look down and saw this poor guy laying there, in the very same area I've always seen him hanging around the white "Shawn-a-gon" Van. Apparently he was attracted to it too.

 Although we had a few cold nights, I don't think the cold got him, but thinking I may have nicked him with the mower blades. He had a few areas where his skin was broken, so between the injuries and the cold he just didn't make it.

 In these pics he's somewhat dehydrated and shrunken. It's a iguana about 20+" long. How he got here or how long he's been around is still a mystery. Maybe the Deer dropped him off. Or maybe some of the many smaller Lizards I've been seeing are it's young?

BTW, I don't have many neighbors, and over the summer since I've seen this guy I have been asking those close by if anyone had and missing pet Lizards. The answer was Nope..  :confused04:;

Geeze daily sights, Deer, Lizards, Turkeys, Coydogs, if only I can get a pix of that 300+ lb bear that roamed about 100 yards near here last Spring.   [gunfiring\

Whoa, that is def on the big size.!

 Hold onto it Jay,

  Better yet, slap him in a freezer.....that could be something I could use to compliment my mouse-k-bobs for next summer's picnic.
