I just read this and thought of my fellow gear heads.  Cool concept, wonder when I can transplant one into my van... clap2-*

To me looks like the pneumatically actuated valvetrain would be just more things to go wrong with a the pneumatic system and be very expensive to to fix. 2@cent
Interesting but I'll stick with the cam engine.
I don't have to go to work in the morning....

A looooog time ago Mazda had a "rotary" engine. Don't know how it was made or if it had valves and cams etc.  :confused04:;
If you have to copy at least be original!

No cams just a three sided rotor spinning on an elliptical orbit around the crank with apex seals working like rings. Sort of like a 4/2 stroke.

They also can turn cylinders on or off at will.  This will be the future I think.

Same engine, good video!!

Howard, the Mazda RX8 still uses the rotary engine.  Only downside to the rotary is not much torque...

Of course the fact thet Mr Koenigsegg makes the most expensive cars in the world means that after years of development it will take years to trickle down into the every-day cars

As 3Gear said w-a-y into the future
