Beetleboi -Greg-

Would like to remove my engine this fall... preferably after English Town to fix oil leaks and add some...missing parts onto my motor.
Mechanic like most of you know wanted 300 dollars, If i can do this in a day I'd like to do this myself with some assistant from the crew.
We do not have a garage and dad doesn't want to drop the motor, saving money is important when you only make 9.25 an hour.

Please let me know if you can help.

This is what needs to be done... possibly.

Oil Cooler Seals
Valve Cover gaskets *replacing next oil change*
Front Seal

Installation of flaps thermostat etc.

Bottom Tin

Engine liner seal.

Let me know if anybody can help, If not I'll get another estimate from the shop in monroeville.

-Greg-

PS 60 wt does exist. I ended up getting straight 40.  BO** BO** BO** Leaking is less.

In the fall, if you are REALLY stuck for a garage you can use mine, (probably, but need to check my schedule at that time) I'm in Pa tho, and of course if we do not finish for whatever reason, you may have to stay over, - so you would have to pack your P-jamees, and bunny slippers. Katie loves reading bedtime stories, so your in luck there!

Please let me know if you can help. I can help but it has to be done at my place and you need at least two others that know what they are doing.

This is what needs to be done... possibly.

Oil Cooler Seals
Valve Cover gaskets *replacing next oil change*  Better buy a extra set to replace when you do the work
Front Seal

Installation of flaps thermostat etc.   Make sure you have ALL the right parts you will need.

Bottom Tin

Engine liner seal.   question?sign

Thanks Jack, and Matt, Matt thanks for the offer Jack is a little closer. Sorry I have to miss Katie's stories.

The engine liner seal thing is the piese that goes on the rear of the tine that keeps the exhaust heat out of the engine compartment. Bob pointed it out to me at the collingswood cruise, it's a piece of rubber around the inside lip of the engine lid... if that makes any sense.

I'll be there. Like Jack says- get all the parts that you need (I would even pm him to go over the list of stuff you may need) Stock up starting now. Then we will pick a date in the fall and get to it. It might possibly be done in one day so make it a saturday in case we need the sunday. (Consult the show calendar- I want to go to pumpkin Run) And don't forget to take the weekend off! I'm not going to work on the motor if your not there! We get $70 an hour if your not there!

Pretty much,

def not the engine compartment seal,
and maybe not the front seal......

But it still would be good to know what is leaking exactly.................
