Fuel lines

Hey all,
Any recommendations on replacing my feul lines (what type to use) ?
I'm replacing my steering box and I have to remove the gas tank to do it so I might as well replace the line. Also, when I put the motor back in friday night, I swear that the rear fuel line shrank because I really had to strech it to get it to reach the motor. I know that you should use blue soft hose for your brake hoses but I'm wondering if I can just go with  off the shelf crap or should I ask for anything different

You can use the off the shelf 1/4" gas hose most auto stores sell. Must use clamps with it.

OK, lets see.........
1). - line running from the metal line on the left to fuel pump
2). - Line running from the fuel pump to adapter ( goes from 1 size to a bigger line )
3). - Line running from adapter to pressure regulator ( all this is mounted on the firewall above the engine! )
4). - Line running from the adapter to the left carb banjo fitting ( thats a double fitting )
5). - Line running from left carb to the right carbs gas inlet.

I didn't measure any of this but I'll be I've got about 4 to 5 feet of fuel line just in the engine bay! - So top this one!!!   T1

Cooler Fuel + Denser Charge = More Power used it on race car. It really works.

This lightweight aluminum can installs easily using neoprene gas line hose and clamps (3/8" inlet/outlet) and is typically filled with ice or dry ice prior to use. It seals tight, doesn't leak, and includes drain plug, mounting bracket, and aluminum tubing.

  John, I know you are looking for practical answers so here I am.... :icon_tongue:


The samba has a real nice procedure on replacing the line, very simple in fact.
I think I had it all laid out in our previous website, but that went all down the drain, so the samba is the only place to get it. You will have to do a search.

  I would go with a stainless steel brake line, I think that is what they recommend.

-'bout 6 months ago ordered a metal line to go from the firewall to the line to the fuel pump.
Pipe now is very rusty on the outside, never saw this happen with OG stuff, but that is not what you get anymore.
hope it is not rusting on the inside
With all  my trials and trib.s with gas rust, I have to say stainless steel, and you'll never, never, never worry about it again, even after  your dead!
