Nice looking but since when do they use pop rivets on vin plates?  .##

Enlighten me... As of the mid 60's all cars have the VIN plates attached with "rosette" rivets, which are not available to the general public. (Or did I miss more rule changes in my 20 year absence)

I'm not a rivet expert (Though I often wish I were) but I believe the difference between a "pop" rivet and the one's holding the plate on the Squareback is the hollow center.  Hard to duplicate.

With a round file and a few minutes, I could knock-off one of those "rosette" rivets........

Pop rivits have a hollow center too, thats where the little piece goes that allows you to set it.  But those rivits look like any other Ive seen on a VW vin tag, never seen the rosette style on a VW
