I went to start it and ------------------------nothing. It had lights but nothing happened when I turned the key. Battery fully charged.
So how do you think I fixed this one in about 3 min.??????????

Well, First I jacked up the right rear.............

Grabbed a large wrench..............

And gave the starter a smack or two.
Got in and she fired right up. Could this just be from sitting, I have never had a flatspot with this starter.

I had to do this to mine when I was 1st trying to get it running. Haven't had a problem or 'flat spot' since.

autozone has starters for 69.99 (could be more now) with a lifetime warranty!!

I got the bug running on sunday, put in the new air lines, now I just have to figure out a small wiring glitch and  I am 100% again !!

I pulled the double cab into the garage today, switching out the Bug. Gonna drive the Bug home today & tomorrow since it is supposed to be nice. I have to replace the front windshield rubber on the Bug before Winter.

I have a set of pop-outs for the double cab, but need rubber for them. I also have a set of original vent windowns, which the frames are really beat on...I might try to find a set in the yard this weekend and see if I can make Bus vent windows fit the Crew Cab. Finding Crew Cab specific parts is challenging...

Nothing to the car today BUT... I pondered the thought of asking AndyDub to send me the parts to make the Blue Meanie right hand drive  s#r

Checked the engine oil - OK
Pulled the spark plugs and check gap - OK
Checked tranny oil -- low - add oil -- oil leaking rear seal  m-d2
Check and air up tires - OK
Check brake fluid = OK

Drove over to Kenny's house to ask when we could pull engine to replace
tranny seal --  Kenny just left, took wife to doctor -- check back later  :icon_idea:

Go home to take nap   :surrender:

Bought QQ tags from Runnamede man was that cake! She didn't even ask me my mileage. Good thing because I forgot the post it in the car. Took off my plates had to hack saw the ones on the front.

Fixed fog lights... guessing there was a bad ground because I took the assembly apart and the lights came on... so I put it back togather. Easy fix.

Found my missing wiper arm and blade realized that neither of them lock into place like they should.

Sprayed engine bright in engine compartment because it's just getting too greasy... even for a rat.

Checked oil...

Pull tools back into trunk along with the jack and the lug wrench which I almost forgot.

Started it... it runs... and is much quieter with the "quietpack" still miss my GT Tips =-(

Was declined for a credit card that I was going to use to buy the bus. I felt that one coming. =-)

Fitted the shortened leaves into the beam, stripped the rear axle, after foolishly removing it from the car and then realising I couldn't undo the 36mm hub nuts........ lots of straps and the rear of a landrover and landrover tow bar fixed the problem! Still waiting for my reaming tool to arrive to finish the front king pins.
Finally, dug out all the RHD spare parts I could find and checked shipping prices to the US.........

Doh  @7@ missed that.

Don't know about DMV. My DJ5 (yes, I actually owned a postal jeep and still missed the joke) was registered and passed inspection every time. I dont think RHD is illegal
