Michelle, to answer your question about copyright. You can use a sign, a piece of art
a photograph etc. without the owners consent as long a @copyright by ........ YEAR doesn't appear on it. Hope that helps.

My Cube took a chit and I need to pull the HDs and get my stuff off of them and copied to the external. I was hoping to get to it this week so I can get it to Jack, but I can get it to Tyler and he can get it to Jack

Rich (GlowBug) generously donated a portable hard drive to the club. Beetleboi has transferred all his photos & videos to it and gave it to me. I have to do the same but my NAS (network storage drive), the place where I keep all my stuff is crapped out. I have to put it's drives into a computer so I can get my stuff out and upload them to the club's drive


The idea behind the drive is that is, there are a few people in the club who take a LOT of pictures and videos at club events. The drive get's passed around amongst them every once in awhile so we can continue to upload all the pics & vids from all the events.

This serves two purposes. The first is, its an archive for the club. The second is, it gives the main "video-makers" in the club more material to choose from, AND if they syncronize with it each time they get it, there will be back ups at several locations in case something happens to the unit

Wow, I really did enjoy seeing that, a lot of great footage, and captured a lot of events, I was  then thinking of ...

  Methinks the drive in and Stewarts is a HUH?! to outside viewers, they dont have a real idea what that is about, maybe some lettering about Drive-ins etc, and what some of the things are.

And in a way I dont like my next suggestion...make quite a few clips shorter and less pictures - hate to say this 'cause a lot of this is great footage for my memories, I'm just thinking will someone be willing to watch for 10 minutes for what this club is?  I dont know if they will be wanting to take time looking at some unknown people for any length of time - I think it would be to them, like watching someone elses home-made movies? We all love them, & beleive me, so do I, I'm just trying to put myself in an outsiders place of view. In thinking someone would not want to watch more than 3 min of a club promo, what would one put in  - in that time span, and how would you put that in? if there was only 3 minutes to do so

Just some of my ideas - I DONT mean this is the way it should be, just want to throw out something  in thinking the general public likes quick movement to hold their interest...

Year of start of club in swelling up letters ( 3 sec)
Engine class Lettering (3 sec) 3 photos 3 sec each
Welding class Lettering ( 3 sec)  3 photos 3 sec each
Body work instruction....
Members helping members ( In Lettering)  Ex. Photos, Jack sanding party, 3Gear trans removal, roadside help, help
  during shows, Link-pin help, Towing back Jack's rat rod, other pictures of members helping other members to work 
              on cars, ( 3 sec.s each with  lettering)

The Fun
Picnic  Few quick shots of picnicking, but thought it would be a good idea to have on one screen having or very
          quick pics of each picinic group photo with year lettered in. ..2006!  2007! 2008! 2009!

Cruises:  Lettering of locations of Cruise with short pics,  and  very short selective video clip
The rest kinda follows the same pattern
Drive ins
Breakfast ( with lettering Breakfast with the Beetles)
Shows
Camping
  etc....

Kinda follow the same format with all the other good ideas that have come up with, I just would keep movies to a minimum -  even though they do show the character of the club, but again so do the pic.s

At the end I would have lettering of Members cars as of 2009, then a rapid fire of pics of all members cars ( 1/2 sec at most) with the appropriate climatic music ending at the last pic, then  screen blank out for a second then swelling of BIG SJVWC letters forming   with a pic of the Founding members, then a little history of the formation of the club either by lettering or narrated by one of the founders - or more than one.

I have to agree with the tar man on this... shorter is better, maybe put in a 10 min about us movie on the site but a short promo on youtube...  just my  2CENTS as well or it's really only worth 1 cent but...
