Took the QQ SJVWC tags off of the bus and took  pictures of the front and drivers side to send to Trenton. The cost to transfer them to another club member is the same I will pay for my new tags $94.00 all goes to Trenton~ none to goes me.

Mounted the fender with the two fender bolts that were still usable because of the body rot and some rope...
Checked fuses, headlight fuse blew.
Discovered I still don't have turn signals after the accident and fixing the fuse. Indicator comes on and stays on, doesn't blink.
Discovered an exhaust leak...
Discovered that stockish tires rub against the fender when I brake and hit bumps.
Found my sunglasses behind my gas pedal!

Oh, did I mentioned I had breakfast with the best group of people in the world?!

Jack you better let us know what YOU did yesturday.

tried to adjust the auto choke on the ghia today. Anybody here ever have to make a seasonal adjustment to the auto choke? Mine was bogging down at low speeds when it was first started- after the car has warmed up, it ran fine. So today I turned the choke element a little bit clockwise, adjusted the idle cam and it seems to run a little steadier. I guess I'll find out tonight when I go to work.

Nobody has a decent write up on how much you can adjsut these suckers. I understand how they work, but how much adjusting can you get away without causing damage? When the car is started, should the idle cam be at the top step or lower?

Gee, I wish someone who is famous for their how to videos could come up with a quick one on adjusting the auto choke for warm vs. cold weather driving  s#r s#r s#r s#r s#r s#r s#r

How far up the step is, is prob related to how cold it is - that is what I always thought.
Not that they were necessarily adjusted correctly, but had a few bugs where on a cold winter morning, they were up on the highest step.........
yea, be good to have.....when it is this cold, it shold be about on this step.

Could be also that your preheater tube is getting clogged....

& make sure you are really getting a full 12V to the choke element - just in case

Also as for any adjustment, as you know, but as a reminder to check, make sure the choke is backed off completely when the engine has warmed up.

I was working on my car when Frank called and wanted me to save him a seat, Opps, I forgot about breakfast, to late to stop and shower and go so I continued to work on the car.
I don't have to go to work in the morning....

John, the best way to adjust the choke (without having run the engine) is during the warmest part of the day with the engine cold, as the ambient temp. will effect it. Turn the choke counterclockwise till it just closes all the way and lock it down.

You may need a seasonal adjustment if your engine is not running perfect like mine does. :icon_geek:
