I finally got around to fixing the internal fan rubbing the housing on the blue bug. The noise was ruining all the other strange noises that some (mine) air-cooled VW's make. The reason it was rubbing was the alternator wasn't exactly in line with the crankshaft so it over time the fan was pulling the alternator/fan against the housing. I found another pulley for the alternaltor that worked. Relined the alternator and replaced the clamp. Also plug both heating housing exit ports on the fan housing to (hopefully) get a little more air across the cylinders and make it run cooler in this record breaking heat.

Rotated two tires on the Sienna then the mosquitor's came out. Hopefull I'll do the other two tomorrow.

I have it everyday on my "To Do List".

Unfortunately, so are 20 other things.

I welded the light brackets to the front of the basket (Rage basket...Yakima brackets)

Put a nice coat of Tractor paint (or as I call it "spray-can powdercoat") which matches perfectly, and installed the lights

Added the CB & VHF radio antenna brackets

And there it sits, cause it's too damn heavy to lift back up there by myself

Physics man! Ill put it on top of the wood shed. Lay a couple of 2x4's from the shed to the van and s-l-i-d-e it over. Easy Peezy!

Hell. It looks like it can climb up there all by itself :-)

I waved to my bug as I went to turn wrenches all weekend and last night on the Audi...  The motor is installed and running, just need to button up a few minor details and I will be driving her tonight...

Must be a dream (the nightmare's over) come true.

Good luck and wishing you no start-up problems.
