Drained a quart of motor oil... Added a quart of Marvel's Mystery Oil and the tap went away in about 2 minutes...

Getting ready for GRM.  Since its a magazine event we've been trying to add a little visual appeal.  No time for a proper job right now just something to "pretty" it up but still maintain the the scars and marks that show her story from this year.

The Syncro had a "whistle" (all the time) & some horrible noises at 3000 RPM. We feared that the valvetrain was the source of the noise. I did the "screwdriver-on-the-ear" trick and discovered that the alternator was actually responsible.

Jay & I replaced the alternator. The whistle is gone... The noises are gone.... She is so quiet it's un-nerving!

I am taking it to work tomorrow... We'll see how she does

Ordered dropped spindles for the Rat today Of course now I have to save my nickles & dimes for new front tires

Replaced the broken (and obscenely expensive) Stabilizer Link with a custom Van-A-Ru creation.
Jay took the old link,
TIG'ed a new threaded section on,
Machined the shoulder back in,
and then he climbed (litterally) the shelves of Pep Boys,
until he found a strut mount kit that contained EXACTLY
the right bushings & washers needed to do the job!

Took my bug for a little cruise with Bugaru today, 6hrs and 100+ miles latter got home.

repainted the back of the bus again today also redid a few other rust spots and repainted, now its all one color again.

Removed the Syncro's middle seats and installed a nice Berber. Got the curtains done. Install 'em tomorrow
