Well, I wish I had the money for this one, my neighbour across the street introduced me to her best friend who is selling a 1979 Silver Convertible, it has 7400 original miles, garage kept all it's life, just a bit of TLC and you have a dream ride...  It even has the original tires (not that you want to drive on them...)  They knew I was involved in a VW club, so they wanted to see if we could get it into the hands of a club member.  I have not seen the car in person yet, but will soon, and I will take additional photos, Feel free to hit me up with any questions @ 610-329-4610.

Here is the information that the owner sent to me:

Here are the stats regarding my 1979 Karmann VW Beetle for sale:

Color:          Silver/Black Convertible Top
Vin:             A 15920 40475
Mileage:      7420 Original Miles; Original Rag Top, etc.; all but mechanical maintenance.
Condition:    Great; needs some TLC:  Needs tires, battery. Has always started until recently. From researching online this is common, and should be easily rectified by person with the know how.

Original Owner(s):  Unknown at present
Last Owner prior to my ownership:  Deborah Hamburg, 403 Willowmere Lane, Ambler, PA  19002
Prior Owner:  Michael Deloney (sp.?), 586 Blake (sp.?) Road, Blue Bell, PA 19422

I purchased the vehicle with 5400 original miles on it from Debbie Hamburg; drove it from 5400 to 7420 miles, then put it away.  She wanted a white one.  Title tells it all.

The service records which Debbie Hamburg provided me indicate the previous owner, Deloney (sp.?).  Service provided (at least for the last two owners by Holbert's Volkswagen, 1607 Easton Road, Warrington, PA 18976.  Phone:  215-343-1600).  It is now Thompson VW, Porshe, Audi, as of December, 2010.

Condition:  Dusty from garage-keeping.  Two small scratches on the driver's side door; very slight; one is approximately 1-1/4 inch long and very thin; the other is just smaller than a quarter, and very thin; probably compounding could take them out, or touch-up paint, then compound.  I've been an auto detailer for more than 30 years and I'm pretty sure it's not a major detriment.  I do work comparable with auto show requirements (although those vehicles are custom painted, never get dirty, and require little cleaning compared to the messes with which I have dealt).

The front seats only are flattened; I believe VW used natural fillers (buckwheat hulls, horsehair, etc.)  to stuff their earlier upholstered car seats.

Interior:   Very good, other than the seats in front, as noted above.  Have "Ladybug" floor mats for front.

Price:     Will consider all reasonable offers for this iconic automobile.

Upshot:  This is the perfect vehicle for a person (or group) to restore into showroom/show/collector quality with minimal TLC.

Yep, I wish I had a stack of money lying around...   Even if I sold my baja, I'd still need more than I could manage...

I don't know how fast my car will go.
It's more important that I know how fast my car will stop.

I'm figuring north of $10K to get it done. I do not know what the market will bear, I have not listed it on the samba yet. I'm just trying to facilitate a deal that makes everyone happy.

A good price, a good buy, and good vibes...
