Fuel Additive

Saw this mentioned in a newsletter I get.  Is it something to consider?    Opinions please..

My JackWagen VW manual says to only use StaBil fuel additive...

Taking her out later... figure today will be a good day to check that heat since it will only feel like it's in the 20s all day  ..

Running hot...  engine lid hot, smelled hot,  ticking noises when I shut her down?   I'll check it out again in a bit when we go cruisin.

With all of those symptoms, it sounds too hot !!!!! Look to make sure there is nothing behind the engine blocking the fan intake.  WITH OUT THE ENGINE RUNNING !!!!!
