From the ridiculous prices I'm seeing for replacement coolant pipes, I may just fall back on what I know which is braided steel.

I'll post once I get the parts... If its at my garage is it an AirRaid or Overhaulin

There are some truly nice people out there....

I went to see the VanaGuru to see if the standard Vanagon coolant pipe & the one from a Syncro (4X4) are the same. The all knowing VanaGuru not only showed me they were the same, but gave me this beautiful slightly used one to put on my Syncro!




His only words were "Replace it, when you can, with one in similar condition" 

After i got home, closer inspection revealed a 9 digit part number. A google search revealed it's not so rare... In fact, it's in stock at Bus Depot

VanaGuru has taught me well 

Ordered it and the necessary gaskets & o-ring   

I will be replacing the loaner with an exact replica thumpup)-

I think I just used my DD coupon that said free coolant pipe with the purchase of a large coffee. Sorry!  17gif
