Took a 2hr. each way ride to Del. to pick up a steering wheel for my (soon to be) '70 Baja bug. I just found out that the last time it was on the road was '84. The last inspection sticker was still on the windshield, which was wrapped in 2006 newspaper. Wow this is gonna be a real rebirth!!!!

cut in the dash gauges today , tach, oil temp, oil pressure, head temp, fuel level, alt. What? Well this is not gonna be your fathers bug. also wired the horn and switch and changed out the steering wheel- some fun, eh?

Finally got the rest of the glass in today; when it WANTS to go in , it's no trouble. BTW the tip from John about leaving the sun soften the rubber made ALL the difference.

Took Nigel for a short ride today. The '56 OG front brakes are insufficient. I am going to switch to '65 front brakes. From what I research and read '65 is the best I can do using the original spindles with out going to disc brakes. I am also switching to an early Bus master cylinder. The piston is bigger. That gives more brake pressure. I just happen to have an old '65 parts car in stock!  %$oldcit
