Yeah..  the people around there in the big houses have been complaining about the noise for many YEARS.    cr\y  violin&  cr\y

My theory?   4thinking6  A developer has offered them a lot of money,  so they'll start by closing the track,  then will shut down the other courses ( dirt, bike, etc) saying they lost too much income from the track closure to continue,   and then they'll sell  out entirely.   Since they own the airport too,  maybe they'll sell that as well... who knows?     As I said,  it's only my theory....   4thinking6

Yeah, it must have come as quite a shock to the homeowners - after they moved in - to discover there was a drag strip nearby!!!

Same BS at many other tracks.

No, if track had offer they couldn't refuse why go through the pretense of staging out? They'd just take the dough and go.

We raced karts there for many years. It was a nice place.

Karting used to be very well attended. Both a Sprint league running 15-20 weekends a season and a separate organization that did a few endurance events per season. They had a small road course for cars and cycles, too.
I haven't had much contact with it in the last five or six years other than looking at standings on the web.

Yea, I know, that is ridiculous
That amount of money is almost like a punishment of some sort....

I dont necessarily think it's pretense.. I honestly don't think they'll have the same draw or make the same money they used to, and it won't appeal to them to keep it open at that point.   The crowds don't come there like they used to..
