another carb question

Sorry guys by no means am i a mechanic....

   jc whiney has two carbs listed how do i know which one i want.

Replaces all Solex-type 30 PICT-1, 2, 3 and 34 PICT-3, 4. For 1500 and 1600cc engines with idle cut-off valves. Comes with adapter plate that allows carbs to be mounted as a 34 PICT carb replacement.


and here is the disription for the other    Replaces 34 PICT-3, 4. With idle cut-off switch.

If you have a 34, you don't want to replace it with a smaller one. This is a GOOD CARB if you have a 34 already.

I'm not sure what you have on the car.

I have a 74 super beetle so my guess is that it has the 34 pict in it.

Yes its a 34 and the link i posted will work great. Don't go with a smaller throated carb that needs an addapter to fit your intake.

theres a solex pict 34 on the samba right now
