With my beam dropped down there is no way I can run it on the road .The floor jack wont even go under it. Talked to the folks at SoCal imports and they said flip it and mount on upper control arm? With it dropped ,Am  I going to notice that much body roll? S@Sm

I can't speak for the newer cars, but I would think it would depend on how you drive. If it was my daily driver, I would keep it. You don't need to find out about body roll when your trying to avoid some old lady in a cadillac. Remmember that it keeps the wheels from tucking under the car in hard turns.
Why don't you just flip it?

The old rule of thumb for building Dunebuggys was to get ride of it all together.
I did it on my buggy and it made no difference.

However keep in mind that a metal Beetle has a lot more weight and it sits higher.

I seemed to remember that one of the old Beetles I owned didnn't have a sway bar, in fact I believe I added one to my 59.

Wow Joe!, I thought without a sway bar, handling would be really poor......
