top end seemed fine ( no piston, head damage.)
The one bolt on number 4 was way to tight. i should be able to crack it tomorrow.

cleaned out and squared away the trunk, checked the oil, put on my new 'AUTOMATIC' badge, fussed with the carpet @ the kick panel, then took a nap hoping to get more inspiration.

Nope.

Can you move each rod?

When you take the flywheel off make sure you have the right amount of shims and set them aside in a safe place.

Looks like you have to split the case and see what main bearing is the trouble.

Jack rebuilt and delivered my (right side) carburetor for the Ocelot (Dune Buggy). Thanks Jack. -I wasn't home.

Yesterday I started changing the entire linkage on the twin 36mm Dellorto's on Old Blue. On the last cruise my right foot was worn out from having to push so hard on the gas peddle. The throttle wire that passes through the shroud make a savvier 30 degree angle up creating friction on the wire (how long will that wire last?). Between that and the hight tension springs to keep the throttle closed I need both feet to hit the gas. the new linkage (swap meet special) is a hex bar set-up and it sits a little higher (I have to raise the coil now)  but has the throttle arm right is now in line with the throttle wire exit. Today I wasn't home long enough to finish the hookup and see it this new system will work. Stay tuned.
