Guys,
Its winter and everybody has a few months to think about new projects. I know I've talked with a couple of new members about engines and engine building.

Two winters ago my winter project was to fix the mess of an engine that our Vice Prez Mike had built by a local builder ( I still use that term very
lightly when referring to that jerk! ) Our goal was to make a good running 1776cc engine out of a mis matched pile that had started to disintegrate due to the sloppy build the previously mentioned putz tried to pass off as an engine.

I tried hard to document the build in my blog "How not to build an engine". I thought the process we went thru might help someone who was contemplating the same. Somehow when the club dropped the old "Coppermine picture account" all my photos were lost. I finally patched things up and this weekend reentered all the original photos of the build.

If anyone is thinking engines then I suggest taking a look at my blog here:

Also take a look at any of Jacks U-tube videos which is an excellent source for this topic. :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:
I'm posting this in hope to save some new member from the same fate as poor Mike. Theres lots of "Mystery Motors" being sold out of our favorite magazine and other sources so if you arm yourself with some basic knowledge you stand a better chance of getting what you are looking for. Remember learn the terms, ask tons of questions and don't forget your best source of help and information is this club!!
