I've been wondering how far left this thing would go before getting back to the orginal idea. I agree with most that the orginal Simple SJVW logo looks good. Only problem I would have is where to mount it, a license plate frame would have been nice as we all need License plates on our cars. But whatever the group agrees with is ok with me.  Just my 2CENTS Squared  2CENTS 2CENTS

Brady
On another note is there much difficulty in making one off's.. Say that certin members might want their own Logo say something like 6T5Sqr or GT-1, or JacksRat, TubaBoy, Bahaha, etc, etc, you get the idea. To save the endless font scripts, etc, you chose a standard Font, they chose with-in reasonable letters what would be CNC'd ?

2CENTS  As for me, i would buy one of those Aluminum logos to put in my car in a heartbeat.  sjvwc.ico

My  2CENTS, Go for the logo!

I like the logo. I looked at the trike today to see if I can put it some place. I would like to attach it to my plate, but a motorcycle plate is smaller then the car plate. I get one any way.

I'm with you guys, I would buy one right off.

OK Jack... I didn't want to say anything when you put a quote within a quote.  :-X
And then you put 2 quotes in another quote...

But you just put a quote, within a quote, within a quote. Your web skills are giving me a complex s3

You got more borders & "prettier quotes" and lavender than you did text in that post  shocked

OK...Just to stay on point and clarify, here's what I think the proverbial 'we' should do.

I will cut 4X7" ovals out of 1/8 flat aluminum (and donate my time & the material to do so). I do not paint or do printing, so I'll leave that up to those who do, to make it look 'all pretty'- or will get my finisher to apply a vinyl print that has all the flames etc on it in the right colors. I will drill 2 holes into each plate. It will be up to each 'recipient' to make/buy brackets and install them for their particular flavor of VW. It would be nice if we shared our bracket designs with each other of the same model/vintage. I will need someone to sand/prime/paint each oval before the artwork goes on them.

Here's what I need from those who want to help:

1) Need total quantity 1st.
2) After cutting, need someone to paint.
3) After paint, need silkscreening or back to me to have vinyl applied.

I'm not sure how all of this will work in terms of handing out plates when they are done. I personally feel that the club should get a few bucks out of the deal, and the rest of the proceeds can go towards any materials that are not donated by me or another craftsman - I'll let the Treasurer figure all that out.

Thoughts? Ideas? Volunteers?

Thanks!
-Brady

No problem making my own mounting bracket.

The bracket is going to be the easiest part. Just a couple pieces of twisted aluminum and a couple of pop rivets.
