I went for a real ride for the first time. clap2-*  About 5 miles.    Running like crap, bad miss.  But it stops and all the wheels stayed on so I guess that's a good thing.

Went out to the garage this morning, about 5:30 am, opened the big door,
and yes !!! Helga is holding her place just fine.  Only 114 today here in the
Sonoran Desert, should be about 117 on Tues. Cooler next week.
Yesterday we made our reservation for the Flagstaff Campout, Aug 27, 28, 29.
Flagstaff is up at 6800 ft., much cooler !!!   Only 75 in Flagstaff today  :jump4jo":

Will drive the MH and tow Helga to the campout.  Looking forward to seeing all
our VW buddies at the Flagstaff Campout  2@@cool  &^beer&  thumpup)-

The lever on my starter toggle switch on the dash broke off yesterday as I was going to take the  strap for a ride, so I went and got a push button switch last night and installed it early this morning.

Now I have to get another switch for my horn because the old one was, push up to start and push down to blow the horn. I think I'll just get another push button switch for the horn.

I had both batteries tested.  The Optima (starter battery) was found to be 'good' and the old fogey, that was supposed to be a deep cycle battery but wasn't, was found to be 'no good.'  Got a new deep cycle battery and have yet to see that it fits.  I also need to rethink the wiring there.  Previously, the starter battery and the deep cycle battery were connected.  I don't believe that's a good idea.  Each battery should be connected to the alternator separately, right??   :confused04:;

Last night, George came by to take a look at the Road Runner.  Many of you are aware of the issues it's been having.... leaving us stranded in Lancaster last week.  Well, after a quick once-over it was found that the voltage regulator was not connected!  #banghead

Maybe, just MAYBE, that's the reason it stalled out and wouldn't start again?!?!

George also repaired a fried wire and tightened the connection to the battery.  Now, we're off and running (sans deep-cycle battery for now).  I took it out for a run today, and the Road Runner was feeling good!   :jump4jo":

Thanks, George!

I renewed the insurance and reg. on my trike today. Until I can get out of my chair I have to find somebody to replace the battery and change the oil. It's been almost 2 yrs. since I had it on the road. I think I can get my leg over the seat. I hope the valves don't need an adjustment, then I would have to take the exhuast off.

I think I have away to mount the walker to the trike. I must be able to get off the trike to get gas. I hope I can get everything done before the fall.

Almost done... Thanks to Marc (M (VWNutt) & Bugaru for help with parts & disassembly

Installed 14 new hoses today (of 47 total on the Syncro)

New water Pump (Shiny silver- center)

New left coolant pipe (black coming off water pump) which was the cause of the trouble

Bugaru let me in on this a while ago and I thought I'd share...

Sears Paint & Hardware has an awesome selection of Metric hardware at reasonable prices.

I replaced the majority of the Metric hex head cap screws & other hardware from stock.

Can anybody (besides Marc M & Jay) spot what I have to do next?
