Looks like the cam froze and the crank kept going. Your going to have to do some carefully measuring and cleaning to determine what parts are re-usable.

Thanks for the insight Joe. Too the "untrained" eye things look pretty good. But I'll have to get you experts to give it the once over before it's put back together.[/b]  (hail-

Howard, I have two complete blocks in my backyard, Don't know if they are 1500 or 1600. But if you wanna look, you can have anything that  would help.  Dave

the plan is complete stock besides the rims. i would keep the fuel injected but im 99% sure the motor is locked up. floor pans have some iffy spots nothing bigger then quater sized. battery spot is perfect. bottom of heater channels look great. but where the running board bolts too has a few bad spots that i will just patch. i kinda like the silver too, looks like the original color.

Dusted her off,  put a new SJVWC sticker in the back window, and checked the oil   which by the way was perfect in level and clarity.  thumpup)-   Good girl.....    love__

If the F.I. is running it's better performance then a Carb.
But if your set on converting it to a Carb, it will be a much cleaner install.
Just did a 1978, converted it to a Weber 32/36 clean install with lots of available powerband..

My Personal Opinion is the Carb Setup looks cleaner, it's simpler to fix, and more eye appearing..
