Got a cover for my Fridge exhaust to keep the weather out when not in use.   :cheesy:

Got the squareback up and running today after an 8 month slumber. After much smoking, belching and screaming (that was just me) it fired right up. Set the timing but need to readjust the idle and sync the carbs. Also need to fabricate a bracket to help keep tension on the alternator. Belt is too loose. After I get this done, I move on to the beetle.

In the past, I found rain-x to cause a lot of windshield light scattering when you see oncoming headlights. It as pretty bad even tho' I cleaned it off as much as possible as per instructions. Heard the same from some others.  Never did it again. Just use it for back windows.... never tried to wipe it with a wet cloth ... would be interesting to try that..

I've always had great results with Rain-X.
Gotta wipe it down wet.
Follow the instructions.

Never had anything bad from using it, always works great for me.

On a trip with Shawn during a storm a wiper arm stripped out, GLAD AI had RainX on the glass.

Have to keep it wet because besides the magic sauce in RainX, I've heard that most of the liquid is ethanol and rubbing alcohol.

That's true. They handed it out at one of our safety meetings and said one of the main ingredients was ethanol.

..could be.... could be...

maybe the alcohol is used to dissolve the sauce, then allows for quick evap on your windshield leaving the sauce residue....  maybe
