Had a few hours to put in, plus two loads of laundry, so I had heat...
For a test, I took both red/black and red/white wires (they feed up front and back) off the terminals to the starter.. eliminates any nonsense up front.
So, the only connections were:
from battery positive red cable to starter, battery to ground. Connected my remote starter to starters' large terminal and to top terminal as normal.
Got barely a crank.
I know battery is good, since I put in my Bug, and vice versa and started.
I'm thinking, it has to be the damn starter or starter bushing... the only thing that gets me is that Jack connected directly to the starter with battery cables from his truck battery and it fired up fine
The only thing he could have bypassed is that I have TWO red wires coming from alternator connected on the positive post. I will disconnect them next, just to make sure I dont have some crazy issue with the alternator.
The good news is that while tracing some wires out, I got the license plate light working ( connected backwards by PO) and the interior back dome light on (not connected at all by PO). I now have every damn electrical thing working on this bus
I still think my wife is coming into my garage and messing with this wiring...
